Message In lieu of my recent troubles. After rebuilding the lifters, I decided to clean my JWT cams up a bit (they had some slight scoring - from break in is my guess).

Look at what I found:

Interesting... That little piece of metal must have went somewhere. Who knows when, or how long it's been in there like that (Over 5000 miles on build).

I hope it is not what caused this, higher-pitch, top end "clacking" noise. Which is what we think was a very badly collapsed lifter (rebuilt all 24 now). However, I doubt that this edge, actually contacts the lifter itself (you can see the wear line is not close to that chip), so should I look at getting a new one? or should I be fine (pardon my obliviousness if I am wrong here)

See video of the "clacking" here

**Side Note**: Just a little tidbit of information here for those that use THIS Guide (with pictures) to rebuild their hydraulic lifters... When refilling the valve body, 2-3mm from the top of the body itself, as ash states in the guide, can be too much. I put my cams back in, and the valves are being forced open, ever-so slightly. So when rebuilding lifters, just fill the valves back up to the top of the spring. As I need to take apart 24 again and remedy this :)

think my Z is being held together by zap straps"
